On the 2nd August 2025, a group of walkers from Domainex trekked across the Suffolk coast as part of the ‘Trek to Remember’ event organised by Alzheimer’s UK. Our team raised over £4,000 for Alzheimer’s Society UK!
There were two teams: the ’26 milers’ and the ’13 milers’. The ‘26 milers’ were up bright and early for a 6:00 am start to embark on a trek that lasted 10 hours covering 26 miles. The ‘13 milers’ followed close behind covering their chosen distance. Both teams walked across farmland and coastline. The beaches were scenic, but the sand added an extra challenge! Crossing the finish line, the trekkers were greeted by their names being called over a speaker and a glass of bubbly.
There were many blisters and aching legs, however, the participants made comments such as “it was hard, but I am so glad I did it. There is a huge sense of achievement.” The sense of achievement spread beyond the walk to the fundraising, “knowing we have supported and raised money for an incredible cause that effects so many is incredibly touching”. “We would like to say a big thank you for the Domainex team, our friends and family for supporting, raising money and lobbying behind us trekkers! Thank you!”
‘Trek to Remember’ is a fundraising event organised by Alzheimer’s Society UK, with the events taking place across 12 locations through-out summer. It was wonderfully organised, with refreshments being provided and support, before and throughout the event. We would recommend this event and are thankful to the Alzheimer’s Society Uk team.
